I just purchased a black TV table from a garage sale also, did miss out on a blond wood set, but that was my loss....I can't wait to get my table top covered, some one used a heat resistant ironing board pad, which maybe a good idea. That was such a nice suggestion, the other tip I really was thankful for was, to use a hanger with clicks on it, to hang the rulers, that works so neat for my double closet. I open the doors and they are right there, I don't have to hunt for them, or pick them off of the floor. Love the tips !

This is for leiladylei54 , who just posted the question, where can you get the pattern for the ironing board TV tray. Check today's newsletter May 17 th and scroll down to "Link and Resources." Click on U TUBE video Small pressing ironing table matt, great instructions right there.

I use a wooden TV tray and put that square rotary cutter mat - the one that rotates - on it and use it for either holding the block layout so I can grab the pieces of a block to sew in order - - or also for trimming the 1/4 inch seam on the paper piecing. Works fabulous! As for ironing - I reserve that for my physical exercise - I'm getting bottom-heavy!!! :-)
