I’m hoping to finish piecing a Halloween quilt. I have the blocks done, just need to add the borders. I also have a quilt top to sandwich for quilting. It’s for the humane society auction coming up in October.

Won't be sewing Sunday since have to get ready for 2 birthdays on Tuesday.
Sewing binding on lap quilt.
Sorting thru notions to donate dups to quilt group a week from Sat. Found print outs too...hopefully they will go to new home, too.
Hopefully glue baste another quilt.
That's enough to do...lol

Good morning everyone. I enjoying seeing the progress and completed projects posted so far on this site.
I’m in again this weekend. My projects I want to work on. (1) quilt a raggedy Ann kid top, (2). Quilt a sunflower table runner for my niece. (3) square 1/2 square triangles, sew 24 star blocks, and sew the blocks into a twin size top for the same niece. This will be my main project this weekend. (4). Sew 2-3 Linus blocks into quilt tops for my guild. (5). during breaks hole punch my printed out patterns from the internet and place in a notebook. (6) Lastly clean up my sewing room downstairs.

Iceblossom- not to worry, most of the projects I listed are things I started before my surgery so I’d have some easy stuff to do until I'm healed. I’m using my suspension system while quilting the colorblock quilt so it is feeling very light and easy to manage on the Sweet Sixteen. I’m also taking lots of breaks. Had my 2 week followup today and got told no lifting anything over 15 pounds, no leading my horse or holding my 81 pound dog’s lead (DH is doing that when we take our after lunch walks), no riding my horse and no pushing or pulling heavy objects (like the vacuum cleaner!) til after Labor day.

Sewbiz- looking forward to seeing your Jacob’s ladder- it’s one of my favorite blocks.

Good afternoon, everyone!
Currently waiting to wake up a bit and get some coffee on, I'm really hoping to get everything I had planned accomplished this weekend. My nephew's quilt has kind of done a number on me since I had to tear it all down and start over, the fun I had with it in the beginning just isn't there anymore so I've struggled since the last VQW with it. I would have been done with it by now, but there were almost five straight days where I didn't even turn on my sewing machine. This is definitely going to be one quilt that I will be glad when it's done and I've planned out my next quilts so I don't have to rush into this pattern again for several months.
The shirts that I posted about a couple of weeks ago, I've decided to do a hexagon quilt with them, doing one rotation rosettes with the shirts and then everything else in white, I'm finally getting over my aversion to working with white. I'm hand sewing this one, so it's going to be a while but I designed it that way on purpose. I have three shirts cut into hexies, three more to go, and then cut down the white. Lots of cutting planned today.
If I can get to my mailbox today, I've got some project bags waiting for me. I cut out 480 hexies, they need to be in a bag and the rest of the shirt hexies will go in, too. The last time I tried to hand sew a hexie quilt, I was disorganized and I kept losing fabric and templates, then started losing finished hexies, too. I did have a rambunctious puppy when I tried it, this time he's much older and has no interest in what I do other than lay at my feet and keep me company. My sewing kit was fun to put together, I honestly can't wait to get the quilt started.

I saved a Quiltmaker magazine since March/April 1996 for a pattern called Ethan's Star. I can't believe there is no actual piecing instructions....they tell you how many pieces of each patch to make and that is about it....there is a colour block broken out so you can see where the pieces need to go. It wasn't my favourite pattern but I have the block done at 30 1/2" and will start cutting my borders now.

All my hexies are cut and now nestled in bags, though not my project bags - they didn't come in today like I thought they would. They're in town, but arrived after my mailman had left, so I'll get them tomorrow. Had to break out the big iron and ironing board for my white fabric, I thought I had already pressed and folded it but when I opened it up to start cutting, it hadn't been done. I didn't count the hexies but guesstimating, I think there's over a thousand done - it's a good start.
