It's been fun seeing what everyone is accomplishing this weekend! We had 12 for dinner and an egg hunt today - I've spent the last 2 days cleaning and today cooking but plan on getting back to my mock cathedral window jeans quilts. I'm working on #9. Want 12 done for Christmas 2017. I've got 2 big boxes of jeans to cut up and just discovered a couple of bags of jeans in an old house where we store things. These have been "stored" for at least 20 years!

I like seeing everyone's progress. It's been a productive weekend for me as well. Got the fish quilt binding attached and one side done.
Raggiemom, I'm just going to have to play with turning corners on scraps, but I'll have to buy more matching thread (I ran out) or fill the corners with appliqués,unless someone has a better idea for filling the small gaps.

Yea! I've FINALLY finished the quilting on my display challenge quilt for KCRegional Quilt Fest! This is the quilt that has fought me the whole time--and since there are only 2 real criteria you wouldn't think it was that difficult! Size & color combo were the only 2 criteria. All the fabric with the exception of a couple in the kaleidoscopes (and yes--that includes the black!) has been replaced. The stuff I had included wayyyy too many prints that just made the kaleidoscopes look bad! Then I ran out of black and couldn't match--so replaced that. Wanted 2 bats to get high definition quilting--and both black--so looked high & low for a wool or poly in black. Finally found one at Keepsake.
Then, since such dense quilting, shrunk up a bit more than I figured--so have had to add a very narrow border (not in pictures) and will block tomorrow.(having trouble getting pixels right so it's clear and will actually post) I also finished up the t-shirt quilt I've got to have by this weekend for a customer--it's on the long arm right now.

I was able to put together 2 blocks of the BH mystery quilt, only 14 more to sew. I also sewed 9 shashing blocks done, with 1 April quilting bee block completed. After I iron them I'll post pics. I also pinned 2 months of my temperature quilt. Plan to sew stripes together later this week. I'm trying to get this project caught up, so it will be completed by next January.

I spent today unstitching the 6 border blocks that were done wrong. Of course after the unstitching I had to re-stitch them back together. I did get another row of blocks sewn together on my Allietare.

This is so fun to watch! I was not able to sew this weekend but I was able to go to Barnes and Noble to buy the books to go with a quilt that I have made and the other quilt I have completed the top and have to find something to use for the back. A friend of my DH is expecting a baby in soon - believe it is June, so not knowing what it will be I found a wonderful kit at the Road to CA for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" And since there is a 3 year old sister I have put together A Trip Around the World in pastel colors. We decided the Dr. Seuss book, "Oh the Places You Will Go" would be a nice book to go with it. I tried to get my DDs go from B&N to Joann's to find a backing, but they declined. Which is probably a good thing. My favorite place to buy backing is Beverly's Fabrics. Sometimes I use Fabric.com too.

I finished the quilting on this one, but I didn't get a chance to do any cutting for the next quilt. The binding strips are ready to put together so I'll be finished with this one by the end of the week.
