I will be a lurker this time and really love to see the pictures of what everyone is working on. I hope to do some sewing but guarantee it as dh has day off so we may clean windows (doesn't that sound like fun)! Then maybe go out to lunch. Love to see everyone's progress.

Off to a lazy start today... slept in this morning, did my despised chore of grocery shopping by ordering online pickup from Wally World (1st time to try this, but it beats schlepping through the store I think!) and just finished lunch. And I will send DH out to do the pickup for me.
So I have some strips to cut for a class on the 13th (Bonnie Hunter Orca Bay) and then I think I will make some paper pieced blocks I have been working on recently. Pictures to come soon.

As promised, here is the crazy quilt I am working on... this is a reproduction of an actual antique quilt. When I attended a retreat in April in Shipshewana, this was offered as a CD with patterns created from the actual quilt as a challenge project to anyone who wanted to try it.
There are 208 different blocks that finish at 4 1/4 inches. Some will require applique and I have not made any of those yet. As of now I have about 50 finished. I am using 30s repros and 60s /70s calicos. And haven't even made a tiny dent in that part of the stash!

Oh yes! I joined yesterday when this VQW was first announced. Since last night and this AM, I completed the bindings on one of the remaining quilts of the ten I attempted to finished at the beginning of the Canada's Day VQW. I have 4 more to do. So ... after a snack break and maybe a short nap, I'll stick a new audio book into the player and start again. Thanks for the invite!!

Just got back from visiting my friend with fabrics for her. She had found a box under the stairs with some serving pieces of my dishes (Yorktowne by Pfaltzgraff) and was going to give them away so checked with me first. Score! Several pieces I don't have and I have a lot!!!
So taking a computer break and then back to the preemie quilt. The columns are sewn and pinned together for the first go-around. I'd say maybe 30 minutes or less to complete the top but it will probably take all day! But I should have pictures soon.
Here's a picture of the first one, this is made from my recent Walmart buys, the purple pin dot was $1.00/yard and the package of strips too. The flannel I got on sale at Joann. This will be two preemie/twin donation blankets. There are some design considerations, they do want pieced tops (no cheater cloth or whole cloth) but no lumpy seams. No metallics on the fabric. Flannel on back. The second one I'm piecing in columns instead of horizontal rows. Same fabrics, similar concept, but different.

I’m working on getting the quilt for our bed quilted. All these quilts I’ve made, and not one resides on any of our beds! Third of 4th border done, all hand-guided and ruler work. Can’t wait to get it off the frame!

ka9sdn, a Sunbonnet Sue and Sam sounds perfect for a hot summer day.
Quiltingvagabond, looks like you're making good progress.
I'm having a pretty productive day!

Loving the pictures. Unfortunitly, my attempt at photographying, downloading and editing isn't working. For now it's just words. Between the last VQW and this one, finished binding and labels on 5 quilts. They're ready for charity quilts at the guild. Yes!!!!!!

A bonus VQW, Yay! I'm not American but am always happy to celebrate good news days, like Independence Day! I have my Triple Irish Chain blocks completed.... now to set aside the time to make them into a top... and then a quilt!
