Just checking in while taking a break from quilting. I chose a King Tut variegated thread for the hearts and pinwheels quilt and the variegation looks lovely against the black background.

5.30 and done for the night. Glue basted 3 out of 4 sections for dog quilt. Finished piecing sections for 2nd dog quilt. Making these to use for FM practice. Quilted a "grid" on some of the sections. Oh and decided not to get dressed today. I love Pajama Days! I'm laying plastic wrap over the sections to see what patterns I want to do and using my dry erase markers.

never seems like I get as much done as I plan on these weekend! Did get the applique fusible design cut out (the paper version) so I can work on fusible applique tomorrow afternoon (still dealing with tractor in morning) Did get facing sewn on (but working on sewing down tonight) on grandson's map wall hanging. Worked out math on the 3D quilt--think I'll have enough fabric for it. And tonight, after delivering the soup for church member with emergency appendectomy, found my Accuquilt die I ordered on Wed! to cut the triangles--so should know by Sunday!

Would add that son's fever went down this morning BUT he had a swollen and hot shin--hit it on Monday evening when getting out of shower--went to Urgent care late afternoon and Dx as staph and cellulitis--so got antibiotic shot and Rx--really can't afford to take off another week so hope it responds quickly this weekend. He's had staph in a toe about 10 yrs ago so is optimistic--now if there was a Rx for his toxic marriage!

Glad to see so many quilters hard at work! We will plan on a New Year's Day quilt along then.

retiredteacher09--I hope this weekend will get your mojo going. I was kind of in a slump for almost a month. I bought a new-to-me machine from a friend and that seemed to get me going again.

quiltingshorttimer--hope your son is OK.

rryder--good luck car shopping!

petthefabric--it sounds like you might need a little fabric therapy after this weekend

jmoore--so glad you're joining us this weekend.

quiltingvagabond--so sorry to hear your DIL has covid. Hopefully it's a mild case and no one else in the family catches it.

Panchita--what penguin BOM are you doing?

Karamarie--wow, handseeding three acres, how long does that take?

I have had a great day! I finished the two quilts I had and got another top completed. Looks like I'm hand sewing with friends tomorrow instead of Sunday so had to get my hand work project ready to go. I watched an Elf Workshop tonight and ended up ordering three patterns for future gifts because I don't have enough ideas already! I'll check back in tomorrow

I finished a chicken pin cushion. Well, it's supposed to be a chicken. You have to squint a little.
I messed up a pouch (sigh) so I'll take the zipper off tomorrow, hemmed the curtains...glad that's done and worked on my circles wallhanging. Starting to sew the sections of the blocks together.

We will see what tomorrow brings.

I finished quilting and trimming one quilt today! I’m so pleased with it. I think I will use black and leftovers for binding to make it a bit scrappy. The other thing I managed today was to hand sew a patch on hubby’s favorite jacket.

Hi everyone! Glad to see you all

Thimblebug - I am very intrigued at the idea of a virtual quilt retreat, I hope you have a lovely time!

Karamarie - handseeding 3 acres?!?!! That sounds like a lot of work! Wildflower meadow sounds spectacular though. Will it self-seed after this, or is this an annual thing?

quiltingshortimer - glad to hear your son is doing better, and really hope his shin cooperates - that sounded painful!

Raggiemom - I'm doing the Pumpkin Patch BC Penguin Promenade BOM (there's a thread in the QB Challenges and Contests section). I seem to always be working on this when VQW comes around - must be due to the timing of the release of the block. However, it is going to have to go on the back burner for this VQW as my printer still won't cooperate and I need to print out the sheet for the applique shapes to start....

An Elf Workshop sounds like a lot of fun! My brain hasn't quite registered that it is November yet, so I haven't done anything about Christmas related sewing (there won't be any gifts involved so it doesn't really matter if things don't get finished for this year)

Rob - how's the car hunt going? Is this something you enjoy? I've stuck with the same brand and model through my last 2 cars (that's about 20 years-worth) as I'm happy with what's provided, but am probably missing out on all sorts of gizmos through not being adventurous!

Watson - I laughed at your description of the chicken pin cushion. I'm sure it is very cute

MicheleC - that is one fabulous quilt! I adore your colour choices

So today I will be working on my reversible stacked pumpkins wallhanging, tidying a shelf in my quilting/craft cupboard, and possibly making a couple of cloth bags to house bits of Duplo/puzzles etc as the original cardboard has bitten the dust. And I might pull the fabrics for the hat/scarf/extras for the penguin block (since i can see it, just not print it, and I can take a long time to make up my mind, lol)

Happy sewing everyone!

I will still be working on my flower garden quilt. Think I need 6 more flowers and about 400 path pieces. Then on to sew the border on. Finished my casket quilt very early this morning (second one, the first we put on my brother's casket and sent it with him. Maybe by the next VQW, I'll be hand quilting my flower garden.
