Not sewing but I have been and continue to organize a big bag of scraps. I've pressed scraps until the world looks level, have discorded bits too small to use and have sorted the remainder by color into pieces and strips, to be stored flat in boxes, so hopefully I won't have to press again when using.

I recently completed the top for a Now and Later quilt, made entirely from scraps, going to my stash only for the last few 2.5 inch white squares. I'll post a photo later. And still it hardly made a dent in my collection of scraps. For some reason those things now haunt me, and I'm anxious to use up the rest of them, which is why I'm on the organizing kick.

Okay, you officially win the Most Industrious Woman of the Year Award as far as I'm concerned!!!

DH and I will be leaving for vacation next Thursday too, so I need to get plenty of sewing before I leave. I am taking a hand project with me, but past experience has shown I don't usually have much free time to work on it. I get seriously motion sick if I try to hand sew in the car, otherwise I'd have hours to work on it!.

I am currently working on an "Oh my gosh" quilt, and also want to catch up my of 365 blocks a year quilt. I want to get started on teh quilt for my Sis, as I may need more coordinating fabric (medallion type quilt) and it would be great to have that figured out as I know DH and I will be stopping at some quilt shops on our trip.

I asked DH if he wanted to plan any stops at Sporting Goods stores, he said based on what he's got, he has no business walking into one of those. I told him based on my stash, I have no business going to any quilt shops!

Well, I slept like the dead for too many hours...must have really needed it to overcome the tension of the hurricane watch....so am getting quite a late start in the studio. Headed there now to neaten things up so I can just spread out all over again! Great to hear what others are doing. Macybaby's quilt is charming so far; love the colors AND the blocks choices, can't wait to see more!

I've not done any sewing today - but I'm almost done pressing the 9 patch sections. It's taking about an hour to press 100, and I've got about 240 done, so one more hour to go.

DH and I dug potatoes this morning - ended up with two wheelbarrow loads. They are rinsed and drying on the cement slab by the shop. I'll sort them, and bring about half to the office with me on Tuesday, along with more apples (I'll finish picking them this afternoon). Then we are officially done with the harvest. We got our first freeze a few days ago, and it was late enough I didn't even consider covering anything.

Just seen this thread. I'm in. On Friday I sashed the pinwheel blocks, added borders, sandwiched and almost quilted a baby quilt. Am away for weekend back tomorrow afternoon so will finish quilting, bind and label quilt ready to gift on Monday. Will post photo when it's complete.

Raggiemom, Thank you the interview seemed to go well, should know in about 3 or 4 days. I did get some work done on the GFG last night while watching a movie. This morning we went to our warehouse and took apart the racking so that can get sold and now I am trying to redo my sewing room so I can actually work in here.

Some of the fabric I think is going to get donated to church for peacemaker quilts.

All the pictures are great! Zozee want to see a final on the lamp project!

Macybaby you can come and organize my scraps while I do the big pieces or I'll press for you.

Here's a picture at the halfway point of my lamp. I can't believe I'm out of selvages already! I mean I have more, but decided I want every strip to contain (within the 12 inches I'm cutting) to show the manufacturer ID and dots, with all white for the background. Some of the ones I collected had one, or none of that so I eliminated them. I need 14-15 per section and have 3 more sections to go! Needlesstosay, there's no way to finish this cookie today. Beside, I think the 505 spray gave me this wicked headache, and I'm overly hungry which doesn't help. And it's raining so there's that. I'm liking the lampshade but oy vey! It's taking so much longer than I expected.
