WAHT? Pinning wrong for three years???

I pin as you do, but I'm not a leftie. I have to say that it makes more sense doing it her way, but I'd be inclined to leave a magnetic pin catch on the machine bed rather than have them laying there loose.

I pin from left to right. I have a compensating foot. Which means it has a stationary piece of the foot that lays flat on the bed of the machine. It makes a perfect 1/4"seam. It wouldn't do much good to use pins with the heads sticking out to the right. I sew over the pins. My machines are not computerized.

I have always used the method in the video. For me, a "righty", it makes it easy to pull out the pins as they near the foot of the machine. If the other method works for you, a "lefty", and I see how it could, keep using your method.

I pin the same way. That way I don't have to stop & remove pins and because I have a start/stop button on my Brother, my right index finger is always resting just beside that button for a fast stop. Hardly ever use my right hand to guide fabric and I'm sooooo right handed.
