Hi. I subscribe to the wash first then put into a quilt, but there are friends of mine who don't and their quilts come out fine. With my luck that wouldn't happen. It just comes down to "buyer be alert", and the prices are good. I found some great precut fleece mark-downs at Wal -Mart for $3.50 last month. Some were $5.00, but I plan on making stuffed toys for my grand-daughter to play with. I was looking for something else in their dwindling craft dept., but sometimes you get the best deals when you're not looking. Nice chatting with you.

They are usually pretty good. Be sure and feel the fabric before buying. Our WM only has just the little stuff now. No more bolts. I don't think that they realized what they were doing when they got rid of the fabric.

Getting rid of the fabric sure cut down on my "other" runs (excuses) to go WalMart.

Our WM has yardage back in. I think you have to watch the quality of what you buy-some of the fabric was thin. Most of the fabric was good quality.

I am sometimes fearful of trying a new pattern using my "good" fabric, so I often use the WM fabric for my prototypes. I have rarely been disappointed in the WM fabric and when I am finished, I have a new block for a "sampler" quilt top! I also bought a "jelly roll" type package at WM for around $10 that was all batiks. I am disappointed that my WM no longer has a real fabric dept.

I cannot afford $12 a yard and up.
I started buying fabric from Connecting Threads, as recommended on this blog.
They have 40% sales and lots of the fabric is under $3.00.
The shipping is great. I just ordered 6 yards and the postage was only $4. It arrives in a few days.
I love this fabric it is GREAT, GREAT quality.
The colors are TRUE and you can tell by looking at the site. I needed a backing and matched the color by putting my fabric right up to the computer screen.
If $$ is an issue give this site a try.

I have used the precuts and was ok with it but i noticed that one pk after washing came out thinner feeling but it could have been that one pk. I do like their WM selection of bundle (fq's) and the jelly rolls though. Like some says....what 1 works for you may not do for others.... :)
yeah I remember when we had a JA I used to get better deals there then Wally too but I don't have JA anymore :(
