I never pre wash and I throw all of my quilts (which I always use W & N) into the washer and dryer. It will shrink a little and give it that nice older quilt look that I love.

The only problem with using Warm and Natural is you will now want to use it! I'm with you on the price, but it's so nice to play with I buy it occaisionally.

That's all I use Warm and Natural or Warm and White. My quilts are SID'd at a minimum, washed in the washer with regular detergent and tossed in the dryer. They hold up well. No worries. I love the way the quilt ends up after the first wash - all puckered and soft.

I wash my cotton batts before I use them. I hand quilt and it is soooo much easier to needle after they have been washed. I soak it in HOT water for about an hour until it is really wet but do not let the washer agitate. Then I put the washer on "spin" and get the water out. Then I put it in the dryer. When it is dry, I make the sandwich and start quilting. When the finished quilt needs to be washed, I wash it in the washer and hang dry it.

wash it, throw it in the dryer and it will be fine. I have never used poly batting (I can't handle the feel when I have rough hands) and I never prewash anything! It does give it that wrinkly used look!

All of these were done with W&N the first two were not washed yet when the pictures were taken but the others were. I washed them and then dried on high to get max. shrinkage/wrinkling! http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-24590-1.htm

Good luck and Congratulations on the baby!

Warm & Natural, by far, is the best product I've used and I've tried them all. There will be minimal shrinkage as the the one I use has a little polyester in it.

Same here, now that I've found stores nearby that carry it. I figured I'd wash and dry it like a "normal" person would, if it can't stand up to that than it's not worth it. But it does!

I use it all the time and wash and dry it. Never had a problem.
