One good thing about Warm and Natural is that it doesn't have to be quilted too close together if you don't want to. It can be quilted or tied up to 10 inches apart. Of course, most of us wouldn't leave that much space between quilting.

I never prewash fabric. Also use warm and natural. $5.98 a yard at JoAnn's woth a 50% coupon. W&N is a dream to quilt and washes beautifully. My quilts do pucker a little but I thot that's what a qilt should do. Otherwise it doesn't look like a quilt.

(new quilter here - hope this isn't a stupid question):
So how about when you DON'T want the quilt to pucker? I'm making a Tumbling Blocks & would like it to remain smooth after washing. I've prewashed the fabrics but W&N's website doesn't recommend prewashing except by hand and does not address preshrinking at all.
Would the W&N 80/20 offer the best of both - mostly cotton with enough poly to not pucker after washing?
Thanks in advance!
