BTW, my new machine weighs about 30# and I tried it on one of those 4' folding tables but it wasn't stable enough. I think we're leaning towards the laminate counters :) I'm going to Home Depot this weekend to look at them.

Have you considered getting two short filing cabinets and a hollow core door (across them) to make a new table? Doors are usually around 6 feet and the cabinets would give you more storage. Just a thought.

I have been looking on Craigslist and noticed many sewing table /cabinet set ups from about $45 to $300. Some even come with a machine or supplies. It might be some thing to look into. That tip is for poor sahm too. When kids are out you can close some of them up and hide your stuff.

I think it's so interesting that there are so many "variations" used for sewing and I guess if it works for you that's all that matters. I am very unproductive if I am not organized or if I'm "crowded".....just another side of my OCD...LOL
thequilterslink: I am also south of Erie about 35 miles! Maybe we're "neighbors" and don't even know it...LOL

I forgot to add to my post I have three long tables in a T shape I have four machines set up on. I love having a machine all set up for different sewing projects. I also have the SewEasy portable table to set up anywhere.
