Sounds like a wonderful idea to me.

For years, I've been threatening to clear out the kitchen except for the cabinets and turn it into a sewing room. LOL. Not gonna do it now because I have another room since the kids are gone, but I still threaten every now and then.

I turned my family room into a scrapbooking/sewing room. I like it better that way. Have a big sliding glass door which lets in lots of sunshine.

That's so funny, I was thinking the same thing today as I ate lunch. I gotta run it by DH first though...

We have been in the process of converting our unused living room into my sewing area. Just have to put down the new flooring and baseboards. We purchased a new dining room set so the old table is now my cutting table in the living room. Will submit pictures if DH ever gets the flooring down! Our spare bedroom is now my stash room but can't see in there due to the rolls of underlayment for the flooring in the new sewing area.

I have done that- however, I have slightly different circumstances. It is the only room that fits my quilting bed. I have my overlocker, sewing machines (4) and my TV in there as well as some of my stash and sewing notions, and computers.
The hallway has all the other notions and the bedroom has the spinning stuff and wheel and cutting table. The bathroom also has the washing machine and that is my flat.Luckily I am the only one living here and it suits me fine. Most visitors are fine about it and the "precious" ones don't have to come again. It's a clean work mess at times.
