Use dividers if it is too open. or 1/2 walls that look like fences.

So, he suggested that I move my sewing stuff there so I can have another sewing table with my new machine and a separate cutting station. Right now, I'm using a corner of an upstairs bedroom that is also shared by a computer and TV with two recliners (the kid's man-cave when he's home from college). Can't leave anything out - what a pain!

Has anybody else done this? How did it affect your home?

Thanks. :)
No have never thought of that idea. It's brilliant!

That's a great idea. I turned my master bedroom in to my sewing room. Heck, I don't know about you but I close my eyes when I sleep. The lighting is really important to me so I say go for it.

Why not, especially if it works. Go for it and take plenty of pics.

Do it. I turned my family room into a sewing room. It can get really messy but I seldom have anyone over and it doesn't matter to me (or my cat).

I built a room right next to the living room because I hated sewing in the bedroom, felt like I was missing life back there. GO FOR IT, I don't think you will ever be sorry for it. What a special guy.

Sounds like a great idea to me - why have an unused room when you could be enjoying it!

I would go for it, probably better for you, since it is downstairs and you will have more room . Especially if you don't use then grab it.
