I would go without the triangles but that is only my opinion you do what you want to make it your own. that design makes me think of the game connect four.

my choice would be with and a solid border around that. However, you're the one that has to live with it in the end.

If you choose to do the triangle squares - which I like a lot but it is a lot more work - I would place them so they point our from the center in a sawtooth border. It just depends on how big you want it and how much work you want to do!

You'll get a WITH from me. A sawtooth border always makes a quilt in my eyes. If I have the ambition I put them on as many quilts as I can.
