Its GREAT!! and it didnt cost an arm or a leg!
I was thinking the same.. best to make one yourself and save your dollars for fabric!

I have that same iron...found it at a yard sale for $5.00. It is the best. Very, very hot & irons out all wrinkles.

I have a rowena that I got 1/2 off at Joann's and I use my craft table with an old, clean sheet folded up to iron on.

I have an ironing board that was bought in the '70, the left side is expendable, underneath there's an handle that you turn and it pops an extension on each side to make a rectangle surface. I just love it, it's in excellent condition and I got it in a garage sale, it's very sturdy. I had found on the internet a site which sells these ironing board as I was looking for a cover, I cannot find it anymore. Maybe if you search the net you might be able to find it. I finally had to make my own cover but I would not get rid of this ironing board for a million.....well maybe LOL

I found this trick that by passes the auto shut off for most brand irons. Find an iron stand that is slanted, usually the tip of the iron will go at the high end. Turn the stand so the tip of the iron is going downward. The auto shut off won't engage. Most of the irons use a sensor to turn off the iron not a timer. I took apart a broken iron to see if I could tell why it started spitting. I learned a lot about an iron!

I was looking to see if I could find an expandable ironing board online and came across this. I just do not see myself ever paying this much for an ironing board. LOL

That one doesn't seem so expensive compared to these;

It's not cheap, but I love my Oliso iron that stands up on its little four feet when I take my hand off of it. It's like a toy, but also heats up pretty fast. Makes ironing fun (on quilt blocks, that is) I never iron clothes!!!

I turn the board so the tapered end is where I sit my iron. This gives me the wide end for ironing. ------ THAT IS THE SMARTEST THING EVER! WHY IN THE WORLD HAVEN'T I THOUGHT OF THAT! THANK YOU THANK YOU
