I am using up my coats and clark and replacing in with Aurofil and Superior threads. It became apparent very quickly with my new Bernina just how much C&C sheds in the machine. Better to pay a little more for a better quality thread than to screw up my tension disks.

I think C&C works fine in older, mechanical machines. No significant shedding in those that I could see. There was a period of time when C&C had really crappy thread (slubs here and there), but that problem appears to have been eliminated.

I have used coats and clarks for many years and love it. I have also used thread from Connecting Threads and have had good luck with it.

I just did a search and did the math. I found C&C at It works out to .00063 cents per yard.

Then I searched for Aurifil and found it here It works out to .00062 cents per yard.

Aurifil IS cheaper!! Plus it's thinner and has less lint. You can get a lot of Aurifl on a bobbin.

About once a year I go to Long Creek Mills. They have wonderful large cones that I use with a thread pro. They have almost any color you would want to use. Charlie's prices can't be beat!
