I bought Night and Day by Eleanor Burns recently and couldn't resist trying it RIGHT THEN....made a lime and dark purple wallhanging (no, there are no directions for a wallhanging but a table runner has 4 blocks and so does my wall hanging, OK?) and I LOVE the technique! It's a little wasteful on fabric but there are directions on how to use every scrap, so all works out! Highly recommend this one!

I've added 2 new books to my library. Adroation Quilts by Rachel W. N. Brown, and Quilted Devotions by Lisa Cogar. I've got to start on Christmas in July if I actually want to give quilted gifts on Christmas! I'm sure I'll be purchasing more books or patterns before July and lining up the projects! I've got 2 Eleanor Burns books coming as well (ebay purchases), Radiant Star & The Underground RR. I'll check out the books you've recommended as well, yes I'm a book nut as well as a fabric nut.

This is not a new purchase but a rediscovered book that I've had in my sewing library since 1982. It's "1001 Patchwork Designs" by Maggie Malone. It not only has all these blocks, but in many cases shows the block done in different color/print variations to make it look completely different. She has two different color orientations for Attic Window, one that looks rather like a lightening storm, the other like a nine-patch that has been wonky-cut., yet both have the same size and shape of each piece. I've spent hours with it. I think I appreciate it more now than I did when I first bought it, especially since I've done so much more quilt-making since 1982.

Not too long ago I bought Serge and Merge Quilting and Simple Serger Sewing. I also got a couple of books on felting that I haven't tried yet.
I have Carol Doak's books, Ricky Timms' Convergences, and Judy Martin's books on my wish lists. I had to calm down and cool it for a while, if you know what I mean. I love books and have trouble resisting!!:oops:
