I have a Black & Decker. It's eons old and works great. It was my mom's so I don't know how much it cost or exactly how old it is. It is at least 10 years old. I would buy another one when this one dies.

I don't have expensive irons but I also don't use the steam. If I need a little steam I just use a spray bottle. Beats having a leaky iron.

I have a Rowenta, never had a problem. I paid $70.00 at Macy's. I saw the same one yesterday at Lowe's for $39.00. About made me sick. I'd call them first before buying a new one if you can wait that long.

    Don't get an Oliso!

I just replaced my mis-behaving Oliso with a mid-range Shark ($49) and it's working fine. No leaks.

Black & Decker steam iron from Walmart (about $15.00 5 years ago). agree with Sak658 - heats really hot and irons great.

One from Wal-mart. I lift each one - I don't want a heavy one and check the sole plates.

The Reliable iron is the best one I have ever used. It does not leak, it can't.

I have both a Black and Decker (bought from a garage sale) and a Rowenta (won as a door prize). Both are fabulous. I never had the leaking issue that others have had.

I primarily use the Black and Decker for most everything. The Rowenta, with it's ever so smooth surface, I use only for ironing yardage. This is to prevent other family members from using it and dropping it on the floor (past experience).
