I once made a quilt and had a wastebasket full of triangles. When I looked in the basket, I knew they were too beautiful to throw out. So I made a flying geese quilt with them, and it turned out more beautiful than the original quilt!

So beautiful that I gave it to my daughter at the blessing we had for her just before she delivered her first baby. She had it with her during labor and delivery (which wound up being a C-section). All the nurses and doctors exclaimed over it.

Maybe a crazy quilt? I would cut a square of muslin to sew the pieces to since you have bias edges. By using the muslin as a stabilizer it will help prevent stretching. These blocks can be put together with lattice strips. This would make a great lap quilt. Happy 4th!

I imagine a color themed crazy quilt - each block of a different color and pattern arangement.

I think I would make a set of placemats and matching table runner for the 4th (maybe too late for this year) either for yourself or a gift. If you look in "Quilters World" June 2010 issue, pg 72-73, there is a simple pattern that would work. Look at the next page and if there are left over pieces, maybe make a coordinating apron. These could be whipped up in no time!

I saw your quilt, that is soo cool. My sister was telling me about a Kaleidoscope quilt she is working on. I didn't know what she was talking about. I like the colors. Thanks.

Thanks! I would love to hang it out on the porch for July 4th, but it would get too much sun, and I'm afraid it would fade.
