    I love sunbonnet sue and have done her a lot. Have a Q underway where I have put her in a number of atypical situations. Put her in a AF uniform as DD went into service. Put her in a garden watering plants, etc. You can do a lot with placing her arm differently and sticking a watering can in it etc.

    [quote=Afton]Hi!

    I love making dresden plates, I try to work one into every project.

    I made my first dresden plate block last Christmas, and it was a big hit with my friends. I think I need to make more for Christmas wall hangings. Thanks for the reminder!

    Do you have pictures of your dresden plate quilts?

    Pinwheels cause they are easy, then 9 patch, haven't challenged myself with others just yet. If you are a beginner start with something easy to avoid frustration. But TRY cause you'll be hooked.

    Pinwheels are my favorite block. I love the motion they seem to give and they're so easy to make!

    After reading through the post's I've come to the conclusion that I'm a basic quilter. I love the Log Cabin but haven't made one for myself, humph. Like to do the D4P and D9P because of the surprise you end up with. But I've made a lot of Pinwheel's so I'm going to say the "Pinwheel" is my favorite

    Me too Jan. I made a soldier's 9 patch from a book on Civil War quilts. Fantastic!

    I like DP9 and Log Cabins. I have a hard time following patterns so I like the ones that don't require a pattern per say.

    Anything that I can turn into a quilt-as-you-go. I am learning FMQ and find it easier to quilt smaller pieces then put them together. I have a large throat sewing machine but quilting a large quilt is just too difficult for me.
