LOVE this thread! I had not thought of it from this angle before and it is very thought provoking. I think I would say my quilts say I am creative and adventurous, maybe even bordering on artistic. I take a lot of chances with fabric while I play it a lot safer in my life choices.
I have a hard time following a pattern without making some kind of changes; same with following a recipe. I just have to make it my own.
I've never bought a kit, and probably never will. I would miss the fun of picking the fabrics, etc. Well, on second thought, if I decided to try my hand at some fancy applique, I might go with a kit for that in the beginning stages. LOL

Mine says "I grew up kinda poor and drab, so I make many scrappy quilts and what I see is something pretty out of nothing. I have no problems with UFO's. Some day after I'm gone, some one is going to discover all these wonderful started projects. And I will have had the joy of starting or trying something new.

Mine say organized and balanced, however being very picky, cannot live without my stitch ripper, I love a challenge and a variety of colors. My heart is with applique.

Mine say that I'm traditional, I like things that make me feel cozy (warm colors, flannels), that I also like some order. Like others have said, I too like scrappy, but with some kind of order.

Mine say I may be more of a fabric collector than a quilt maker. I hope that's not the case, but I'm still learning the basics and I'm kinda slow.

Mine say that I am a traditionalist. Order, plain, balance, and simple -- not too much quilting speaks that I am learning and I can see comfort and more self esteem. I am slowly improving.

Eclectic and playful. I love making quilts for Project Linus so I can experiment with color combinations and new blocks or techniques without the commitment of a large quilt. Plus I just love novelty fabrics!

Since I love the look of the square in a square patterns and the Ohio Star blocks, I think it says that on most days I am a square.

My first quilt was a 12 pattern McKenna Ryan, so I like a challenge! Not traditional at all, but do like organized and "matchy". I love dimensional and different. Not afraid of color.
