The second quilt I made - about 30 years. Started it the day Ronald Reagan was shot and finished it during the 2002 Olympics. It was machine pieced and hand quilted.

I put mine up on the wall today. Back in 98 we didn't have the easy ways to make hst and I see lots of bad points. I bet it would look much better if I did another now with the new techniques.

My word... triplets would've sent me straight over the edge! I took my first quilting class because I had what we used to describe as the baby from hell at home & I needed the break... LOL! Come to find out, she just was getting all her "ickiness" out right at the first and about age 2, she turned into the most wonderful child a mother could ever hope for (can you tell I'm just a little bit proud of my DD?). But, had she not been such a booger as a baby, I wouldn't be a quilter today. My hat is off to you!

I have some blocks I started... well, it was before I went back to college & that was 1997. I was just thinking about them the other day. I'd love to make them into a quilt for my DD (they're a "Barrister's Block" variation & she's a fairly newly-minted lawyer) but they're so old, I don't have the pattern anymore, not to mention the fabric is long gone. I don't think I have enough for a full-sized quilt so maybe I'll set them diagonally or something. I'd set them together with a plain square but the pattern works so much better set side-by-side. That' the problem with taking so long to finish a project. Have y'all found that to be true?

I used to not mind working on things for a long time but anymore I want speedy. And to think when I first started quilting I was cutting out templates with scissors! How things have changed!

Oh, but think of how fabulous it will be when it is done! I'd love to make a "Dear Jane" but I know I'd lose my mind long before I finished it!

I can't believe I just read that! I was ironing some fabric for the beginner quilting class I was taking when I saw on TV that Reagan had been shot! Small world! I was also ironing quilting fabric & watching CNN when the Challenger disaster happened.

Made one for one of my daughters that took 20 years...they got it for their twentieth anniversary and really loved it! (Not that I procrastinated or anything like that; life just got in the way!).

I have approximately 50 quilt tops and they all need to be quilted. I have learned free motion quilting by making doll quilts, table toppers and baby quilts but am afraid to tackle a large one on my home sewing machine. I purchased a Pfaff mid arm two years ago. It is set up in one of my sewing rooms and has a 12 foot frame but am afraid to try it. My husband says use it or move it. I hope to take a class soon so I can say I made my quilts from start to finish.
