I have a made shift table in my sewing room I took a cheap bookshelf the ones that you can put together either with 4 shelf or two, I divided it in half with a top shelf and a bottom so that I could my strero in one half and the other I placed a basket to hold fabric. since it not wide I place cinder blooks behind this book case, so no one can see them I place a piece of ply wood on top of all this and a cutting mat. this is tall enough for me and it did not cost much to construct. Most important I did not need any help with its construction

My hubby put in a nine foot solid wood door for my cutting table. I use a small bedroom downstairs as my sewing room.

I do most of my cutting sitting down at the dining room table. However, when making big cuts, such as for fleece, I stand up (sort of). One knee rests on a chair, so that I am a little lower. I am a tall person with a long reach, but the table is just too low for standing. I have a nice big island in the kitchen that is the perfect height for standing, but I rarely clear it off and move the mat there.

I have an island in my kitchen and it is the perfect height for cutting. I have a large mat and I can stand and cut all day very comfortably.

I too, got my table from Jo Ann's;, and it is just right to stand and cut. Also, you can fold it up if you need more space and extend it bigger if you have room or need the extra place to work.

I bought a long folding table and put bed risers under the legs. I skirted the table with decorator fabric and store things underneath. Works great, looks good!

I use my 3rd bedroom for sewing and computer. I have 2 2-drawer file cabinets with a sliding closet door as my cutting table. DH had to put spacers on top of the file cabinets because it was too low. It's big but it has something wrong with it --- it gahers in all my crap in my sewing room at night and before I can cut anything, I have to CLEAN!!!!

I am a short person so the height of the dinning room table is just right for me.

I have to sit. I use my desk, an ergonomic cutter and a slotted ruler. Keep pieces as small as possible. I also use precuts whenever possible.

I have a custom built cutting table, but also use a banquet table with bed risers under the legs.
