Linus Quilt Organizations are very fussy about what goes there. Be sure to get their rules before donating to them.

hate when there are too many rules. I just wanna donate. don't need someone to dictate size, materials, colors, etc. what happened to be appreciative of what you get.

my quilt group makes and donates to families that burn out, we do this through our . WE do five area towns located near us. We also donate to Project Linus and our local hospital. We also do quilts of valor and honor our local veterans. We also work on our own projects and have a lot of fun.

I donated to the crisis pregnancy center in Texas and just started looking for one to donate to where I live now. I know our hospital gets lots of donated quilts. I think it was Linus group that I worked with for a little while. Churches might be able to help.

The NICU unit at our local hospital can always use quilts.

My almost three year old grandson was born at Camp Pendleton - he carries around the crocheted blanket his mother received after he born.

We donate to the NICU (ours wants small quilts). For the shelters and foster kids it is nice to make pillow cases too.

Try contacting pediatric clinics in the low income areas of your city.

I take the fabrics that I am not that fond of or find at an used store and I make dog quilts. They are so much fun to make because you can make them any way that you want and the shelters adore getting them. I have always loved dogs and it makes me so sad to see them end up at a shelter. What I wish I could find is a shelter that sent the quilt home with the dog. I always take my new puppy and move their first quilt all over them to get the scent of home on the quilt. Those quilts remind them of home and they love having them to comfort them. They don't whine as much when trying to sleep because it smells like the home they came from.
And basically the dogs are not picky, neither are the cats so it it is not a masterpiece they don't seem to mind.
