Why is yellow not a popular color for quilts?

As cold as CA has been, I'll be able to use it this summer.

When I first started quilting, I stayed away from yellow. Just not much of a yellow person in what I wear. Now I find that I use yellow a lot in my quilts especially for children as they seem to like bright colors. I find it very hard to find yellow fabrics. Softer yellows are what I look for and so many are not a true yellow.

I found it most helpful. There are many more articles on that website that discuss color.
Enjoy.

Also, in psychology, yellow denotes "intelligence". imho, it takes thought, courage, color design, and personal preference use yellow in anything you create. Yellow can get "one's juices" flowing, good or bad...

I wonder if quilt shop owners/managers sometimes don't order yellow fabrics because they don't like yellow.
There is a car dealer here that only has used cars that are blue because he doesn't like blue cars. He doesn't order any new blue cars.
