The eye is drawn to those yellow patches quite quickly! Thanks for sharing.
I thought I'd add some photos of quilts to demonstrate what I mean, These are mine. The zinnia table runner is a summer piece, but wow, a bit much. The others make better use of the yellow.
maryb119--couldn't help notice how the yellow pops in your avatar quilt

I read a book quite awhile ago that said Never put yellow in a quilt. I thought it was interesting, because I like yellow in a quilt.

Orange is my favorite color but yellow is a close second. I have made all orange and all yellow quilts. I scrap quilt so it can be all different shades of the color.

I am going to be making a quilt for my youngest sister, and it's going to be blue and yellow. Yellow goes great with a lot of colors, lavender, lilac, purple, greens...to name just a few. Yellow is a great color

After red...yellow is a fave color of mine. But you are right, there doesn't appear to be much yellow in quilts these days.

I have several quilts that are either predominantly yellow or have yellow in them. I find it's a great color to use when used correctly. :D :D
I agree with your last statement. Yellow can either make or break a quilt. It makes it when used CORRECTLY, unfortunely I feel like I'd have to go through quite a bit of ugly before I found my yellow balance!
