I do a lot of quilting using wools! I love quilts made with wools & flannels best. I've never had anyone complain about them being scratchy. I always prepare my wools for quilting; wash in hot water with detergent regular cycle, rinse in cold, toss in the dryer. Take out promptly to avoid wrinkles. The wool fabric is then ready to use. I usually do use a batting too, usually a dream or Hobbs wool. The black 'Backyard Gathering' quilt, which is wool applique on black, double sided flannel has a black batting from Hobbs and wool backing. I wound up making (3) of them for customers... Fabulous quilts! But, having a big White cat they were not well suited for my house. They were laundered when completed, before the pictures and came out great

Isn't it funny what people ask for when they don't quilt themselves!!!!!
