That's wonderful! Real glad you found something that worked. I, for one, wish they made them with the knee pedal rather than the foot pedal like they did in the old days. At least you're not fishing all around for that silly foot pedal all the time.

I got mine from eBay..about $50...it was from the Grace Co. ...just put in sewing speed control in the search box. I love mine too...my foot control is now in a drawer. Be sure it is compatible to your machine-- must fit the plug- in.

I am so glad you found a solution to your problem! I can not imagine not being able to use my machine. I sew every day. Quilting is not only what I do, it's who I am.

Thanks to everyone, I can now quilt comfortably again. I usually do meandering, but now I think I can try feathers, and other things. Thanks so much friends! You're all wonderful.

A speed box is a small box that has a plug on one end which gets plugged in the foot pedal port. There are three buttons & a dial on the box. One button is "on/off" switch, one is a pulse & one is the thread cutter. The dial goes from slow to fast. I've seen it attached to the the "driving" arm. It sets up for a grace frame to quilt on a long arm type frame (if that makes any sense. I taped it by the top of my domestic machine. I use that like you would use a foot pedal. I just googled "speed box" & got it from a sewing supply store. The price was $59.00Originally Posted by izzybelle

I had so many wonderful responses, advice and well wishes from people. It was amazing!! Advice was anywhere from get a new machine, use knee lifter, use my underarm or neck. A few of you posted to get a speed box or regulator for my juki. The regulator runs around $499. and the speed box around $59. I chose the speed box and it WORKS!!!!Thanks to everyone, I can now quilt comfortably again. I usually do meandering, but now I think I can try feathers, and other things. Thanks so much friends!
