It varies with the quilt I'm making. I like to use a cream fabric with a light pattern. Picked up 10 yards of a top of the line cream with a light leaf tracing (at 2.99 per yd) at Sauders in Lancaster area in March. It blends so nicely with so many fabrics so I've been using it a lot lately. After washing it has such a soft hand that makes it great for backing, makes the quilt so snuggly. Going to be in the Lancaster area on Sat. and hope they still have some of it left. .

I make quilts for children's charities that go around the world. Sometimes they go to harsh conditions so white backgrounds are not suitable. I really am having trouble with the popularity of white backgrounds in all of the patterns offered nowadays. Sometimes it's hard to visualize what they would look like with a dark background. Thanks for bringing up this topic.

I found it in a Family Dollar store. I think General Dollar has it too. Maybe a hardware store or home improvement store like Lowe's or Home Depot.
look online at www.lastotallyawesome.com maybe you can find where it is in your town.
It is a great cleaner for just about every thing. I've cleaned upholstry in the house and car, taken stains out of clothes, I've soaked burned on grease off casserole dishes.

I love to play with color. My backgrounds are usually gray or a pastel blended or very little print. I have used black and I have used neutrals or white on white. Lorraine's Garden has a white background, and I don't think I would do that again................mmmmmmmmmm maybe, so you see. Its up to your quilt to decide
