Have any of you participated in Massdrop recently? I just bought a 6 pack of 50 wt Aurifil thread, basic colors for $45.99 with no additional shipping costs.

Massdrop for those who don't know is a group buying site to get the best price from the manufacturers based on large group buying. They recently hired a quilting/crafter buyer so more quilting products will be available. Sign up members can at any time suggest what they are interested in, the group votes and if enough interest, Massdrop will pursue trying to purchase from the manufacturer.

Here is a link to what is being suggested for purchase if you are curious.

DottieDodge, I am sorry that your birthday was nearly a week ago and you are still missing 1/3 of your packages! Hope those who are late will get on the ball. It's not fun to be forgotten.

I guess people get lax in the summer. Most of the other swaps are really running late, too.
I'm not real patient when I'm waiting for a package in the mailbox!

It does happen and folks are not only lax just in the summertime but in the fall and winter and spring and right before holidays and right after holidays and in between the seasons and in between holidays and just about anytime.

Late mailers are often bound to happen. Sooo.... patience is key here and the swap host usually keeps on top of this. I have been in many swaps on this board and have experienced it all including those who are non mailers.

In another swap I was in there was a list of "angels" who would mail packages to those who did not receive their packages from swap partners. Patience is still key here. Some squishes will come early and some squishes will come later.

I decided to mail all of my candies near the beginning of the month so some will be early receivers and some will receive right on time. Mine are all mailed at the same time, same day so that I do not have to worry about forgetting by trying to mail nearer to someone's birthday.

Sew Sewbizgirl, make yourself a nice glass of homemade lemonade (my fave), sit back, relax and enjoy the candy show. The candies are coming.

Oh, I've received all my birthday candies already (back in March and April). I am waiting on some other swaps on the board that are running late. It's actually the swap hosts who are late... not the participants. I'm just like a kid watching the mailbox every day when I know some goodies are coming!

    I've been a 'swap angel' before... I think it's a great idea.

Now I feel really bad. I'm a tardy mailer this month. Not on purpose. Yes my swap is late too. Not on purpose. I've tried to keep in contact maybe not good enough. I'm sorry. I should have everything out this week. I'm usually better.

I'm sorry Sheri! I didn't mean to make you feel bad... Yes, you did keep in contact well enough. I was just making the point that everyone seems to get behind in the summer months, with all the other stuff going on in their lives. Lots of people haven't sent birthday candy in time for the birthdays too, probably for the same reasons. Busy time of year.

If you ladies are looking for some quilt related gift items such as cards, postcards, stickers, etc. BBD Creations has a fire sale going on right now. They are retiring and prices are great.

My candies for cindynvb are going with me to the post office in the morning. They should arrive in plenty of time for her birthday. An early "Happy Birthday" Cindynvb.

    Hello ladies
Hope everyone is doing well. I have a cold so I am sluggish and a bit grouchy. I had to drag myself out of bed today to get some groceries and if you bought 4 participating products you got a free gallon of milk. So I bought the 4 items and they still charged me for the milk. I was not happy I complained to the store manager...got my money back and a $5.00 gift card for my troubles.....then as I was driving home I felt really bad that I complained....it was just milk only 2.79. Not really worth getting all bothered about. (or I could look at it ...hey that is a fat quarter at my favorite quilt shop!) I'm okay

Thank you to trish b and mrssherbert for sending in your questionnaire...always nice to learn new things about the ladies here.

Oneteappott.....d.woods is the lovely ....quilter day_by_day.

In case I forgot to post for June contest winners:
    Oneteappot's birthday winner was.....bjsmith57
    dottie dodge's birthday winner was....MaT

We still have 2 more contests for the month of June. I have decide to wait until the end of the month to send out the winning loot to save me a trip to the p.o. plus you never know you could win more then once in a month!

I have heard from pjjandme......hopefully some of you have to. I will do her birthday contest after she posts everyone's name that she has received from....

I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely weekend. My son and his family are in town visiting...love when they are here but I am exhausted! that is why God gave young people babies!

    Barb
I will be sending out the July addresses today...look for a PM

Also just want everyone to make sure they are putting on the proper postage on a package....very important. We don't want the birthday girls to have to pay for her present.
