Received an envelope from Patrick'sMom today! Yay! (Well, technically, it was yesterday, as it's just after midnight now.)

We had some craziness very early yesterday morning. A nasty little storm came through just before dawn, and blew over a huge tree, which knocked down the power lines to at least two subdivisions. Our subdivision just has one entry road, so we and our neighbors were stuck for quite awhile, with downed power lines on one side of the main road, and the fallen tree on the other side. Power was finally restored 12+ hours later, and they got the internet back on a couple of hours after that. It sure was a mess. As far as I know, it was just some very strong gusts of wind, but I wonder if it was a borderline tornado. It was still dark, but the sky was an odd greenish color, and although it was a little windy beforehand, these sudden strong gusts of wind just came out of nowhere. There was no damage to any of the houses that I know of, but my husband thinks a tree may have fallen across two vehicles across the main road from us (he couldn't tell for sure). Lots of limbs are down, and our bradford pear took a beating. An EF-4 destroyed downtown Ringgold almost exactly 4 years ago, so most of us get a little nervous when something like this happens.

Power lines down. They finally cut the power off so people could drive over them and get out of the subdivision. The fallen tree is on the other side, blocking the road completely.

Droopy lines going all the way up the hill.

The huge tree that blew over. The top of a snapped-off power pole had been laying in the ditch, but they moved it just before daylight. It's hard to see, but there are power lines all tangled up in the tree.

I've had enough excitement for this week!

Yikes, Moonrise. It looks like a big long job to get those power lines straightened out! Glad you are okay.

Moonrise, hope everything is getting back to "normal" for you soon.
Received some b-day candies/ envelopes in the mail today...from NIDSgrrl, letsquilt, and patrick'smom. Thank you ladies. I'm debating if I should open them and start sorting by color or wait and open them all at once. Haven't decided yet. Spent the day catching up and have a customer's quilt that I need to get ironed and on the long arm table so it can be quilted. Thank you ladies for sending
