I thought about it, but decided it would be more fun to open them all at once, and enjoy being totally overwhelmed with all the candies! he he

Checking in. Last weekend hubby came home from the base, we had steak night at the Legion, did some yard work, washed his laundry, made homemade Italian dinner, and made four 6.5" blocks for Farmer's Wife (FW) quilt while he napped! He gave me a new computer & set up all the bells & whistles. Now I must decide what items (pics & files) to transfer from this computer that no long will type #7 & #26 of the alphabet. lol
This weekend DD is taking me to Herbert's (pronounced "A bares") for cafe au lait & beignets and some crawfish ettoufee for Mother's Day, been yearning for Cajun food.
The upcoming week should be interesting. Won a trip to a casino hotel near the hubby's base, 2 nights, 2 buffets, & $200 playing money. Hope we can meet up at least one night. Wonder what the hotel will think of all the sewing gear I will take to keep me out of the casino! I am on #65 of 111 FW blocks, have selected & bagged the fabric for the remaining blocks so all I need to take are the templates & plastic sheets, rotary cutter & small mat, iron & Best Press. Will sew them when I get back home.
Company laid off all but one employee after last trip. May get hired back in the fall, we shall see. Great boss, good job, nice pay, & interesting work in the nondestructive testing field. I loved it! Please pray for the company - saves lives, money & time on this country's infrastructure.
Plenty of time to sew now, yippee!!! Hugs to all the May birthday babies!!!! Please let me know that my pkg arrived.
hugs,
dj

I am out of town this weekend... getting my certification renewed to teach water aerobics another 4 years! I wanted to pop in and say "Happy Mother's Day, tomorrow", to all the Moms in our group. Hope your families spoil you a bit!

I have been "missing" this past month for.... but with good excuse. One of my daughter's, who is living with me, has been in the hospital for a week, the semester at the university has come to an end and I have been spending too much time with doctor's appointments. Surgery on Tuesday this upcoming week. I did spent part of my time at quilt retreat mid-April planning projects that I can do by hand during recovery. I trust that later this summer will provide me with a little time to return to quilting. As much as I love it, when life happens my quilting falls off and I miss the time at the machine.
I do keep checking into the Board each day and enjoy the finishes, questions and photos of the work of others. I am dreaming of quilts, planning quilts but not a stitch has been made in almost a month. Back to you in a few days. Birthday wishes to all of the May Babies!
