first a happy dance...Sewbizgirl won...then a very sad face....prize no good! hmmmm I thought they were suppose to be the same all across the board. Maybe that is here in Michigan. I believe our first person (to each store) to bring in a quilt with at least 8 rows wins a fat quarter bundle (20 fabrics I thought ) then if you also had their row in your quilt you get another prize. hmmmm .....I will never know for sure since I have only collected never made any row by row. hopefully that changes this year. I think I need some support on this end to make one.

Hello ladies....I don't know how to grab a link but DJmat is hosting a 2.5" swap....this is her first time to host a swap, so go check it out. It is fun to get some squares when it is not your birthday too!

Then, the wonderful 'store prize' was 3 little plastic notions. Silly things, like "peels" that wrap around a spool of thread. One was a marking pen. One was some little clips. Other shops give a $50 gift certificate or an additional 25 fqs. Why not give your best? Why palm off the dregs? I was telling another shop owner today, and she said that unfortunately this was not the first story she had heard like this. That's too bad. I think it's time to write to the RxR leadership.
There. I said it.

If it were me sewbizgirl, I most certainly would!!! Guess that's why I have never been interested in doing them plus the mileage in Wyoming. I still think the leadership needs to know and I'd send pics to them if they will allow. These shops get free advertising for doing this and get the traffic through their shops..wouldn't you think they'd want to represent themselves well?
apparently your shop is not thinking of this and just going the cheapest way possible. It truly is a shame!!! Be very proud for winning and all your hard work, I totally understand your disappointment

Congrats on your "win" sewbizgirl. But gosh, I would have been disappointed too! Especially since you posted what you bought at a LQS a few posts ago, when I saw that pic I was like, " I have that, I have that, I have that, oh! I want that, and that!" Lol, good taste!
