2018 March - June Wall Hanging Swap
#52
A day off from work has given me some time to work on my WHing.
I have been wanting to do a real piece of hand applique for the WHing swap for a very long time. The time is here!
Seventeen more pieces to go.

Thank you, Linny. The original pattern calls for the work to be machine appliqued. I am using the freezer paper method and starch to shape the pieces then lightly tacking them in place with Elmers Washable School Glue before hand stitching.
I have seen people who do gorgeous needle turn applique and it is an art skill I would love to explore more. As my coordination gets better I will start to try my hand at it.
Do you do Needle turn? I could use a few tips for getting started.

ube, I do not do Needle turn although I admire greatly those who do. I've done many hand appliqué items, and many machine stitched (spending most of my time staying as close to the edge as possible). I do love using elmers glue. It helps so much. I just love the look of your wall hanging.

Love the pics of all the wall hangings so far. I have mine ready. Decided to try purple/blue Dresden plates. PMed Rhonda I am ready.
Sorry I hadn't been on the Board for a while. Have arthritis and some how got trigger finger in both hands for all ten digits at once. Long story short, I am looking forward to getting back to quilting again. Looking forward to seeing all the wall hangings everyone has been creating.
