2019/2020 2.5" Birthday Swap

So my birthday is Tuesday, but I will be in Chicago with my daughter to celebrate. Since it is my anniversary today, Mother's day tomorrow and my birthday on Tuesday ... I decided to open my cards today! So happy I chose today -- I took my time (I think it was about 4 hours!) opening the cards, sorting the fabrics, and taking notes for my feedback. So so many pretty candies...very few duplicates. While I was opening I received a package of chocolate covered strawberries from my daughters - yum!
For my initial sorting I did:
1) a pile of light to dark blue for the sky of Jen Kingswell My Small World Quilt. I still need to get pattern, but the candies have given me incentive. I also put aside some of the quirky or animal candies for this quilt.
2) a pile of 1930 fabrics. I so want to do a 1930s quilt and I have been accumulating fabric and I think variety is a must in a 1930s quilt, so this is much needed!
3) a huge pile of batiks -- love the colors!
4) a pile of the brights -- again, love the colors!
5) a pile of the "Kaffe" like prints!
6) a pile of polka dots and fun!
7) a pile of B&W, White, or grey blend -- I've also been accumulating B/W/G fabrics for a fun project.
8) and a huge pile of other, which might get further allocated or be a great variety mixture.

Fun to see your quilt! I just finished that top about two weeks ago. Just waiting to get the chance to quilt it. Thanks for showing your quilting -gives me some ideas.
