Sewbizgirl - practice, practice, practice. Your quilting ain't too shabby. I'm surprised you haven't already made it into a "hoity toity" show, already. I'd give you a blue ribbon f'sure! Maybe I should become a judge, lol, since I can't manage to complete a quilt.

Yesterday my Mum texted me saying my Dad had been given 24 hours to live. So my husband and I went down to the hospice he was in and said our last goodbyes. I told Dad that I love him and I said our favorite prayer over and over for him. I think he could hear me because his face moved a bit. He passed away six hours later, at 12:50 am. My Mum and one of my sisters were there with him when he breathed his last. I'm feeling very numb right now, even though we knew the end was near.

NZ, I will add my prayers to the others here. God's grace will meet your need in this time. I am so glad that you had the time to reach out to him and to let him know your were there and ready to pray with him through his last hours. In our heads we know the numbness will pass but allow the fog of grief to dissipate in its own good time. Let our good God wrap you in his loving kindness when your thoughts weigh heavy.

Thank you, friends. Your thoughts and prayers truly mean so much to me!
The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, with the viewing on Monday. Siblings are coming in from out of State and one of my sisters will be staying with us. There are 11 children in my family and 10 will be present. (One lives in France and can't come.) There are nine grandchildren, including my four girls, and they will all be here too. Unfortunately my Dad's siblings in New Zealand can't come because of the New Zealand quarantine rules.
My Mum seems to be holding up okay.

NZquilter - my prayers are for you all. Letting my mother go last December still has an impact now. Appreciate all the people who are coming in and surrounding you with their love for him and family. That says alot in this time and age.
