Jane, what you suggested sounds good. I just hope you all make a decision soon because there are some good batik sales on the shop hop sites coming up the 25th. I would like to take advantage of them.

I like the September block pattern, but I don't have batiks in my stash, and I don't have a budget for buying them, so I won't be joining that swap.

Janice McC, It seems like such a simple block to do, but it's a bit trickier that it appears! :-) I even spend so much time choosing what prints to put together! I'm not sure I found enough contrast for this block. At least I'm okay with the picking out stitches part-- I've had a lot of practice with that. :-p ...I hope my older fabrics are okay with everyone? Because I'd like to use what I've already got this time around.

Givio - that's the whole idea. They look great.

RE: the 3 Dudes block for September, let's go with one Batik and solid white for each block. 12 1/2" unfinished. I'll make up a block but probably not til Sept. 1st.

Keep the scrappy trips coming!!!! They look great!

I like the idea and think it would work. My problem is that Sept is so full right now, I cannot guarantee I'm going to be able to make the blocks. I'll be working on August's Scrappy trips until just before the deadline to mail them to jclinganrey, squeezing in a few minutes of stitching here and there. (We've got visitors coming for 2 weeks and then more medical stuff for my sister, so mid-Sept onwards is now a big question mark. I'd love to be able to commit to it, but today I just cannot.

Givio, I love your fabrics...they're right up my alley. I'm not a great fan of more modern fabrics although I do use them occasinally. But if I look in my stash, 90 percent is florals, small prints and reproductions with a healthy dose of some batiks. I tend to stay in certain color groupings so occasionally I've got to supplement with something new or everyone will end up with turkey red and neutral blocks. Boring, even for me!

I look forward to seeing more of your blocks and hope I get one!

Is it too late to sign up for this swap? I read the first page announcing the swap but couldn't find a date that the sign ups will end.

For the scrappy....sign ups end August 31st. You still have time to sign up Phyllis. Back to the 3 dudes block....how much yardage do I need for 6 sets of 12 1/2 blocks? I never made this block before. Thanks

Ok, Jane, forging ahead! Thanks for your kind words, Janice McC. I love turkey red-- hope I get one of yours too! Here's the next block.
