JaneQuilter, I like the block you found on the internet with the surfboard. It's similar to mine. When I designed mine, I looked to the internet too and found free images that I liked. Then reworked and combined them to what made me feel good. I guess others do the same. Lol. The internet is my creative genius. Lol.

Just got back home from a 4-day visit with my daughter and her husband in DC. Had fun, but what Crazy traffic!
Looks like there has been a bunch of chatter to catch up on. I zipped through some of the photo posts already. I enjoy seeing what others are doing, and getting ideas.
kele: I like your solid charms pot holder. I first thought the squares were random, then noticed the order of ROYGBIV! Very nice!

the double rows of candy squares are really cute. I think I recognize 2 of those sweet candy squares.
You have been busy with your 100 patch! how many 100 patches make a quilt? Size?

I'll be putting all the June birthday cards in the mail tomorrow!!!
And with just days to spare, I Finally finished the embroidery on our QAL!! (I actually made mine taller?! I wanted it to fill the block better. I also finished my charming 12x12 block for May! (Showing May and April actually.) I've had a busy month!!

love the potholder idea as well. did you use the fabric on the back that is heat resistant?
More fun birthday mail received today! Thank you:

Enjoying seeing everyone's projects! They're all great and so inspirational! Gives me too many ideas. I've had a batik Irish chain in mind, so will probably save any batiks for that. Completed one candy project - a potholder made with solid color candies received from jaba.

hi sewbiz...lovely quilts i am wondering the measurements of the "Patch for Life" is?
Also are you going to put a border on it?
And how much of the red fabric did you need?
Another quilt to add to my bucket list!

639, to be exact! I didn't use a pattern so there was no pattern to adjust... Just sewed 9 candies together and measured to see that they were 6.5" blocks. So I made all the HSTs and V blocks 6.5" also and everything came out fine.
I got it put together the other day... all I bought was the red calico which was a Keepsake Calico from JoAnn's. I knew it was going to work the minute I saw it. This is a BIG bed quilt. Full size, if not queen.

I forgot to hold my phone horizontally, so the photos loaded sideways. QB always turns vertical photos sideways.
And I don't remember if I shared this one with y'all... made from a picture on Pinterest. It's a lap quilt size and will be donated.

So you see I really AM trying to use up my squares. But I could make these two quilts ten times and not use all I have! Every time I cut up scraps, I end up with a new stack of them. They are relentless.

Sew biz...this is a wonderful quilt also. I actually like it with the 2.5 squares better. You did a great job!
How many quilts have you made since we started the new swap for this year?

Here's the picture I saw online. Mine looks a bit different as I changed the size of the scrappy centers so I could use my candies. I think I like it better the original way.

yeah Kele your squares are looking great!
mrshalibut shared a beautiful quilt top at post #350. So bright and cheerful. I made a few blocks today for a similar one. (Hope that's okay with you, mrshalibut.) I'm combining these birthday candies with ones received in previous swaps. Really enjoyed going through all my little squares and choosing for each block. Thinking I'd like to make it queen size.
Thank you for inspiring me with your beautiful top, mrshalibut!

very cute...Jane Quilter
Can't wait to make LuciaLPL's birdie with the intertube. I want to make my quilt bigger with more than 12 blocks. Any other creative designers out there? I've sketched a few, too.....But this one, shown below, I found on the internet:
What a great way to use the beautiful candies......
