I love over the colors, not crazy about the feather design. I know with all the talent in this group, this will make beautiful blocks. I plan to donate this quilt at Christmas to a patient at our local nursing home.

I think in most any quilt block design you are going to "lose" the feathers. I think once cut and resewn what you see as feathers now will be interrupted enough and the pattern now is so "loose" you will just see the color blocking. A great thing if you aren't completely on board w/ the feathers.

Good looking feathers. Can't wait to play with them. It'll be interesting to see what the finished quilt block looks like. Please be sure to put whatever color (if you've decided) you plan to use as sashing/backing on your note. I'm certain the recipient will be proud to get it.

Wow get distracted a few days and all kinds of things go on in here.
Welcome to all the new people, glad to have you on board. I wish I could join you in the 2 month group but that is something I just can't do this round. But I have to say, your fabrics are making me drool over here.
Lstew, those feathers might not be so pleasing to you but if you take a piece of white paper and cut a 4 inch hole in it, then place it on top of your fabric and move it around you will be able to see all the possibilities in that design. Sometimes the smaller pieces look much better then the original design. you could use a different color of paper (or fabric) to do that too, I sometimes have to do this to see if I really want to use a piece of fabric in the quilts I make. It helps to see how well the colors play together to.
