With a 12 inch block, 3 inch felt right. 4 seemed to wide, and 2 too small. The funny thing is I changed the width of the sashings AFTER I bought the fabric. I will have exactly one 92 inch by 2 inch strip left of the green. WAY too close for comfort.

2 more done. Libster, I LOVE your fabric..the blues and browns are so pretty in it! Bibliostone I made the cat out of your cat fabric. Hope you can use it. i did NOT put the eyes on it because I didnt know how you quilted your quilts. The pattern shows buttons but I wasnt sure. Is it just me or are these 2 groups going really fast this time? I hate to finish and have to wait for the next one!

Default Eclipse :)

We didn't get totality here but we had a bit more than 90 percent. It was enough to turn the daylight eerily flat, street lights came on, the daytime cicadas were completely silenced while the nighttime crickets started their songs. Anyone here get totality and clear weather?

It was strange at the beginning..cloudy, overcast but about 15 min into it the clouds cleared and we got to see the entire esclipse when it was total. Could hear people all over cheering and clapping...the grandkids thought it was awesome! I hope its something they will remember when they get older!

Thanks everyone for the love on my new room... Kass, yes the quilt I'm working on is fussy cut, the goal is to get it done quick as the wedding is Sept 9th! Terriamn, YEP, the closet holds my stash - there is a bunch of other craft stuff in there that I need to slowly start moving into other closets! And Sewbiz, good spot! The sewing machine is a Singer 500A. It is my favorite and up until a couple months ago the only machine I've ever sewn on. It "died" and my sister-inlaw brought me an old Janome from my mom. Just got the singer back from the repair man!

So to celebrate my new room, I spent the last two days learning to paper piece. Not sure how I feel about it, other than I'm sure I will get much better. Next post will show you the results of my last 48 hours!

We had 98% here for the eclipse and TONS of traffic as totality was only about 1 1/2 hours to the north.... kinda wishing I had jumped in the car...

Here is the result of me learning to paperpiece. This block is for LJDugas. Not perfect, but fun to push myself!
