Love those blocks, MM.... even the one you don't like. I think it will look fine set in a quilt. We are our own worst critics.

Fire ants are terrible. They have such a strong venom. We have a ton of them here. Kass, I'd go to the dr. You may need antibiotics for the spider bite. Sounds like a pretty large reaction. I guess different spiders will affect us differently. Ugh. Hate spiders.

Many, many years ago, my ex and I owned a small business in Navarre, FL and one day, I took a change of clothes to work and put them on floor in the corner of the bathroom. Later in the day when I went to change, the pants were full of fire ants. I ended up with several bites on both legs. Thankfully I didn't get them pulled all the way up before the first bite. It could have been much worse.

Years ago hunny was in California and pulled over on the side of hwy. to take some pictures. Turned out he was standing on a fire ant mound. He said he whipped his pants off tight on the side of the highway and started swatting them off

LOL, Terri! They will absolutely make you strip down to your birthday suit. They're everywhere here. I hate mowing my yard because that just seems to make them spread more. I think they get immune to the poison. If they were as big as us, we'd be extinct!

This fabric celebrates Day of the Dead. I made a block in a block for this block.

I LOVE Navarre!!! Wish we would have looked for homes there before we bought the one we have on Perdido Bay.

I made a measuring error on MJP's Ode to Hawaii so Ol'Jack and I are sitting down for a hot date. I have made some progress though. I like how it's coming together. I was going to post a sneak peak pic of the fabrics, but really thought it would worry you, I might show the fabrics after the block.

Annt great job w/ the DOD fabric

I got bit by a spider while driving in Colorado back in 1973 or 74...felt the pinch on my butt but didn't think anything about it. It got really red and sore and oozy but went away. However now, when I get stressed out or upset or sick the exact same spot on my butt breaks out in little blisters and ozzes....the Dr said its just a weak spot in my body and the stress makes that one spot break out....glad its not other places like shingles does!! Only ran into fire ants one time in South Carolina and hope I never see another one again!!!

Thanks for the block, it is awesome.
I almost did the same thing with summer and autumn blocks.
