Not sure why I haven’t thought to do embroidery, I guess I’ve just been so focused on building my piecing skills, I’ve been afraid to get to creative.

I’m glad you like the flower galaxy or as Kass sees it, a Cubist’s Wedding. It will be fun to wonder what your teen will see.

I am from the sooner group and I thought I'd drop by to see how the blocks are coming along. For the ladies that was looking for the Kona Creamsicle fabric, here's a couple of places on line that has it. https://www.fatquartershop.com/kona-...msicle-yardage
https://www.fabricbubb.com/Kona%20in%20Creamsicle

Hope this helps if it's not too late.

Thank you queenbarbie it’s good to know where we can get Kona fabric.

I usually dont don’t order online. They won’t let you buy just a little bit of fabric and the added cost of shipping doesn’t help. We would end up having to spend more than I’d like to on one block. Thank you Pamela for being so flexible about what we send you.

Janice I would like to see an increase in amount of secondary fabric too. Just increasing it by one inch to 7” square would make a difference in piecing. We could use 6 1/2 inch pieces which dovetails well with our block size. Thanks for considering. I know package size if difficult.

Check with the boomers. Some don’t like embroidery. You can always do embroidery on mine.

Annie Quilts that embroidery is fantastic. I missed that it was embroidery. Really adds something special to our fearless leaders block.

PamelaOry, you can send a larger 2nd piece but I am trying to keep the piece at 6 1/2 inches square at this point. Too much fabric can make the package stuffing more difficult. BTW, I think the name is Kona Creamsicle isn't it? I also checked 3 or 4 shops around here and none of them had it. It's available online in various places but I used my batik that closely matched. Had I found it in a shop nearby, I'd have bought a quarter but some of the swappers try to use what they have on hand.

Edited to add: I see Queenbarbiej is way ahead of me answering about the Creamsicle.

I was wondering, if I’d sent a slightly larger piece if that would have made a difference, say a layer cake size? I was wondering if so, if that would be a do-able size for our shipping? What do you think Janice?

MJP is right. Some don't like applique although it does remain the block maker's choice. Still, it doesn't hurt to ask the owner. Me, I'm totally ok with it, especially since I don't do embroidery on blocks. Isn't AQ's block for me wonderful? It has got me thinking about what those blocks will become again...
