TG, my mother and grandmother being Russian, they made all kinds of cabbage everything. My favorite soup they made was borscht. I haven't made it in 10 years and not sure I'd even remember how! Boy, I miss them and their great cooking.

Here are two that I had forgotten to post. Bugaroo and Terriamn's pop of blue!
I never made borsht - but I have tasted it and liked it. We grew up with quite a few polish people who made Galumpkis. I would make them and hated trying to get the cabbage cooked enough to be able to roll. Gave up on that. Then we went to Klingers Tony Packos in Toledo Ohio. they had Hungarian Galumpkis. Fell in love with the taste. But again - no way will I take the time to roll them. So I throw all the ingredients in a pot and have stew!

As an Adult I taught my kids to make them but I still remain the main maker of the Galumpkis. My kids are 1/2 polish. They did the Polish folk dances for years and learned enough of the language that they can get by understanding but not speak it. My MIL told me that the Galumpkis I made were as good as her own. So I passed the test early on.

IrishMom, love your blocks for klaws, especially the blue elephant!. TG, pretty butterfly block for bugaroo and the placement of your blue on Terriamn's is wonderful.
SBG. where is the bubble suit when you need it? I'm sorry to hear that you're having such pain. The MRI will reveal the problem and hopefully there is a non-surgical remedy. In the meantime, rest up although now that you know you can sew with your left foot, something tells me you won't be slowing down much. Be kind to yourself.
As for me, PT went much better yesterday, thank goodness. I'm making good progress but I had to be reminded it's only a bit over two weeks since surgery to I must be patient. Hmmm. I'll work on that.
I'm off to google Galumpkis recipes...have a happy day everyone. It's almost the weekend!

Here are three more. I have a Double Pinwheel for Annt59, a classic 4 patch/9patch block for Bibliostone, and a butterfly for Bugaroo. I really like this butterfly pattern and was thinking of using it to make a throw quilt with my 1930s fabric.
