Meet Mia - although he was once known as Frankie and thought to be a she! She is a Macaw and is very selective on whom she will come to. My son volunteers at Bird Gardens of Naples and has come across many a rescued/abused exotic bird. When my granddaughter went with him, Mia attached himself to her and they took him home. He was doing very well with her. When the house sold in FL, all the animals came up to NH while GD had to stay in FL longer. The stress of moving etc has made him pluck his feathers. Its been a month and I think we are finally starting to tolerate each other!
I am attempting CBD which now is making him extremely talkative and very loud! This morning I went downstairs to let the dogs out - and Mia was still in his cage and started screaming to let him out and to stop it. My husband jumped up out of bed to check if someone was attacking him!
I found out he loves corn on the cob and will pick out each kernel and nibble at it.

Love Mia, TG. Naples FL to NH is quite the change. Maybe Mia is stressed because the little girl isn't around? It's sad that anyone would abuse these beautiful birds.
