I have 2 blocks for Marcialee. The first is a Wyoming Beauty and the other name I don’t know, if it has one. I call it star within a star. I love Marcialee’s fabric but I struggled with sewing on the blacks. My eyes are not what they used to be, lol. Hope you like them.

I’m not sure where I posted this, pumpkin or holly, but the quilt con block challenge has an album on Flickr with almost 300 photos. A lot of the blocks are quite simple but very striking. I think it is a good starting point for inspiration for modern and innovative if you need some ideas. https://www.flickr.com/groups/quiltconblockchallenge/. What I’m struggling with is trying to find a pattern for scientist sunbonnet sue. If anyone has a source, let me know. I’m on a mission.

or being a biologist collecting butterflies like on the cover of this book, https://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Ultim...rback/16951772
Sunbonnet Sue meteorologist: https://www.pngwing.com/en/search?q=sunbonnet+Sue or https://www.shopmartingale.com/conte...bonnet_Sue.pdf
Here's one of my favorites, Sherlock Sue.... the magnifying lens makes it a science-themed sue, I think she was part of the Nancy Drew online blog. https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vwpVNkanz...701_resize.JPG
And a really fun pun on Sherlock Sue is here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/580682945708883789/ (just to make you smile)
My favorite Sues are the bad Sues.... But not too many scientists in that batch. The quiltingboard is loaded with bad Sunbonnet Sues.
