Oh my gosh folks.....I'm off a week.

    Mercy.

Let me PM Patrice and see if we can change that. OMG@ me.
    LOL

Sign up by Feb. 12th, fabric to me by Feb 25th, with redistribution by March 2nd? We'll see if Patrice can change it for us.

I went with 10.5" since that is how the past swaps were taking place? First time swapping this size. What are your thoughts?

10.5" is okay but some of my fat quarters have wonky ends. By the time I get the ends straight and cut the 1" salvage off I only have enough for one 10.5" square. I m use to the 10" layer cakes. I understand the extra 1/2". It's just incase you wash the squares before use and you will have a little bit of shrinkage. This way you have 10" blocks if they do shrink after washing and drying.

One thing I noticed when rough-cutting my 10-1/2" x WOF strips is that some of my fabrics weren't a full 42" after the selvage is removed. Theoretically a person should be able to get four 10-1/2" squares from one WOF of fabric, but in some cases, I'll only be able to get three squares. I guess some manufacturers like to "be frugal" when it comes to the width.

I would be able to get four 10-1/4" squares, though. Is that close enough? If not, it's perfectly fine because I can use the leftover "short" piece for another project.

Either way, it's nice having the squares a bit oversized to allow for shrinkage and ruler differences.

Edited to add: The dates work for me either way, but there will probably be more folks to sign up if they have a little additional time.

I would like to be in this swap. I have my fabrics picked out and waiting downstairs to be ironed and cut. Red, Do I need to send you a PM again? No problem if you do.

    Default sets

    What does this mean?

    * Please remember that each set of 12 must be cut from different fabrics. The sets may be the same, but wouldn’t have to be, as long as each swapper gets 12 different fabrics.

Kywltaholic, a set is one bag of 12 fabrics. So far I have 2 bags done.

    Okay, folks,

We did the date change. My concern is many might not re-read this thread. So this first swap may be a little small in number given my major problem with not being able to read a calendar correctly.

Let's give it some time and we'll see what happens. Worst case scenario, we have baggies already cut for the next one

So sorry for the major confusion!

I've wanted to do a swap for a while! I'm just not sure my stash is "cool" enough to swap.

Welcome to the Board! I like a mix of fabrics for scrappy quilts. Probably it's fine! :-)

Dieldofaisies, whatever you have (as long as it is cotton) I think everyone would be fine with. That's just my opinion.
