I am so excited... I was looking thru all of my quilting/crafting books for a pattern for a friend and I "happened" upon an idea for this quilt swap. Showed it to hubby (who was as excited as I was! OK, not really..lol). I have parts of it drawn out and am going to start cutting out pieces tomorrow, er later today. Lastly, I want a certain fabric for part of it..unfortunately (teehee) I didn't have the batik I was wanting, so I HAD to buy new..and iI couldn't just buy one, so...I know my fellow quilters understand.
Take care all,
Kif
And, thanks Brat for the extra nudging to sign up...

okay who is going to bail me out when DH has me committed to the loony bin? i stayed up waaaaay to late working on this little top (they are addictive, i told you!) so i have a top. now it just needs all the little embellishments that are going to make it shine. its amazing that yesterday at this time i didnt even have an idea. of course the list of unfinished ufos didnt get knocked down at all this weekend.

OK I AM IN KIFFIE If you will jump so will I. sigh. You forced me to do it. Yup handcuffs and all dragged me to the lap top and said sign up or take the consequences. NO DoLL quilts for you if you don't sign up. well given that choice which was really no choice I had to sign up. Its all your fault. hope your my partner. You like weird I mean um different you would be perfect as my partner. lol. So traditional I am not.
This is going to be one of the fun swaps I think. A beautiful variety of interpretations of the Golden Glow theme.. my mind goes right to a sunset which is certainly not a candle but still a golden glow. I get a kick out of watching the sun rise and set each day.. when we get those beautiful colors in the sky.. ah that is a special moment. Yesterday we had this slice of salmon almost color right under this big white/gray cloud . It only lasted about 5 minutes but it was an "ah" moment. I also go to the candles I put on my sideboard at Christmas. I place them right near a sparkly decoration say a bowl of glass ornaments.. and I turn the lights off except for the tree and garland. Everything sparkles.. it reminds me of being a kid how much I loved sparkly things. So that is what I see in my head when I think candles.. glowing, sparkling wonderfully magical light. now put that in a doll quilt why don't you!

To our "fearless dq swap leader". Whomsoever thinks the day shalleth start bright and early shall well, quit thinking!!! Of course if you notice my post times, it is apparent I am: A-an insomniac, B-a night owl, C-a character that should've been in the Twilight series of books, a sparkly in the sun character, or D-an insomniac, night owl, who is way too old to be in the Twilight books but not too old to crack really pitiful jokes. Okay all you who said C....Um, nope...lol
Brat, you better be signed up is all I'm-a sayin' (said in my best John Wayne/Clint Eastwood voice, with a feminine "Ellie Mae Clampett" touch..Okay, yes, I have a horrible (or wonderful?? drawl).. I would love to get you as my pardner...don't say I didn't warn ya, though...dh is out hunting as I type...he also sent me 3 different pics last week while he was at work. One said: New friend, was a pic of a Tarantula. One said: Mean lil blank, was a pic of a Bull snake that was coiled up waiting at foot of stairs as hubby was on his rounds. To that pic he added: Wants to be a rattler when he grows up. Third pic was the 2nd time he had happened upon another Tarantula, that one said: More new friends, rescued this one from sure death. Yes, I did, I went there and was insane enough to ask him when he got home " Just HOW he rescued that spider?" He said, "Picked him up and carried him out, set him in the grass by the basins, because co-worker would have killed him.". Sounds to me like "co-worker" is the one with ANY sense on that matter!! But have to say, isn't my hubby just the sweetest thang?? Doesn't it make you all "warm and fuzzy" knowing he helped save that poor spider. HELP me someone!! I would only kill a Tarantula or ANY spider with heel dust as I was running in the other direction! I would be feeling "warm and fuzzy" from some warmish liquid that might be running down my legs if I happened upon a Tarantula and was close enough for IT to touch ME!!!
Paperpieceme, See I knew you would want to play with us "forever, and ever, and ever..." or at least til this month's swap is done.

What the heck does your dh do? he needs a new job! and oh my crud my pants oh no oh he.. no spiders of any sort get the boot quick if I have to run to the neighbors and get someone to kill it. they do not live in my house. My x dh we did only stocking gifts between us and in my stocking was SPIDER spay. I had the best laugh of my life, it was the perfect gift for me yet whose hubby shops the pesticide isle for gifts? I mean really. Now my new man of my life gives me dead animal skins. wonder is that progress? or a lateral move? lol.. your man is nuts.
I am in. watch out. I am starting on what appears to be a colorful dq. I hope it comes out like I hope. Lots of work to finish I think. wish me luck... can't wait for names. Maybe I will get like 10 of them! (kinda hope I don't).
