Just to remind everyone that not all your blocks need to square. The largest size combo can only be 12 1/2 X 12 1/2. I already have a 6 1/2 X 9 1/2 in the works.
Oh, I missed that part. I have a pattern for a farm windmill that will make a perfect 6.5" x9.5" block. Sounds fun!

FYI quilters: Block sizes can be 6½, 9½, or 12½ square. Plus, you can mix it up! I love various sizes to work with such as 6½ X 9½ or 9½ X 12½. I think you get the picture.

I know right? I am too. Can't pass on this swap. Should be fun. I also love how it goes half way in to June. This will help give me time to finish as my kids are out of school.

That would be awesome! I do wonder if our swap leader gave the green light on farm structures like a barn or farm windmill. I think currently the swap is for farm animals only and they have to be made by the swapper, meaning not print. If not I understand and would gladly do a side swap with some people. I am planning on making a barn for myself and could extra to trade as a side for other structures.

Here were the swap guidelines for this swap-
This swap calls for quote" I see chickens, pigs, cows, horses, dogs, cats, goats, sheep and more in a rainbow of colors and styles. Applique, pieced, paper-pieced but no DP9s, no fabric squares and no fussy cuts with novelty prints. I want you to challenge yourselves to create an actual animal for your blocks! Honestly, I can’t wait to make a pieced cow."

Thank you! If the largest is 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 how small is the smallest? 6 1/2 x 6 1/2?

GracefulAnn could you give me some more input on the color scheme. I think the previous swap I was in was maybe more muted/natural then you are looking for. Is it possible to make a picture of the colors you are looking for? A snap shot of FQ in the colors you want?

I don't mind barns or fences but I don't want that to over shadow the real swap and I don't want to discourage participation by excluding those items.

If you would like to include farm structures, pm me and I will determine whether to add those items.

Sounds fair to me. There are so many options, I still haven't decided what I'll make. Animals are probably going to be the safest way to go; that way no one will get a barnyard vs a farm quilt, lol!

FYI, I love to find easy free kids colouring pages online for applique patterns. They are cute and so many options. Hopefully this is a tip to anyone who's not sure how to collect farm patterns easily and cheap.

This could be a great quilt for grandchildren, and our preschooler nephew and nieces. This is almost like an I spy. I can see a variety of different sheep, pigs, and cows in this swap. Hope to see a few deer and a barn owl. This swap will surely be a baby quilt.
