Sounds like fun -

First thought that crossed my mind - a field with freshly spread manure on it. Usually done in the fall between the fall rains. Gray sky, greenish brownish yellow dirt. Done! (Straw, dirt, "fertilizer")

Can't play, but will watch for pictures. (Aren't you all glad that I'm not playing?)

I don't want to have the dealine extended just for me. I just had it in my head that it would be later. I truly don't mind sitting back and watching...it takes the pressure off!

Having grown up in farm country, the colors are fine - it's the smells I could do without. We had to deal with Farmer Beil who had a leaky valve on his liquid manure spreader thingy. When he pulled it behind the tractor up the road, WE ALL got to enjoy the ripe smell of cow-oozage. SO, as long as you don't soak the fabric - you could play, bear.

My Mom always referred to the guy as "Farmer Beil - that pig!"

I'm still on the Dear Jane Christmas Swap. Kinda regretting one of my choices. Oh, well.

I'll do sunflowers in the field or fence line. I like the second choice of farm fabric more realistic. moosegirl

End of January sounds a lot better, with the holidays. Where is everyone finding there patterns??

End of January would be really helpful. I like the muted colors best too. I'm sure I'll use some small-scale plaids for the scarecrow's shirt and maybe a patch on his pants, but will keep them in the right color tones.

My initial thought had been to do a two-piece background with green on the bottom for the grass and the rest blue for the sky. Any interest in that instead of cream or white? I'm fine with either, just thought I'd throw out another suggestion.

Oh, sew cornie, do your original plan with the sky and grass! It sounds adorable! :)

I changed the due date to Jan. 31st. If we need to, we can move it to the middle of Febuary as everyone starts working, and after the holidays we'll see where everyone is "at." Soung good?
