Learned so much making this doll quilt.
Satin looks very pretty but it's tough to use as borders. It's hard to press cotton and synthetic at the same time. Either the cotton isn't quite pressed or the synthetic melts. I NEED an embroidery machine. Pintangle is great. Metallic floss isn't. There can be some perfectly wonderful embellishments hiding in the drawers of a 1917 Singer Red Eye. They may require cleaning. Making a mess is fun; cleaning it isn't. I have collected enough "nonnormal quilting fabric", floss, perle cotton, beads and other embellishments for about twenty crazy quilts. My DH likes crazy quilts and wants one of his own. Here's a peek at one block. Still need to embroider and embellish the borders and make the label.
